I am interested in intersection between theoretical linguistics and language acquisition. Specifically, I investigate how people acquire second, third and fourth languages. I think it’s all the same, really.

I occasionally do work in language teaching and assessment, often trying to highlight the role of these neighboring fields for generative language studies and vice versa. I consult at ENGin on designing, validating, and maintaining assessment frameworks to measure impact. I am a fan of validity and reliability in assessment. More about this work here.
